HOW I TOOK A STEP FORWARD.

My McKinsey Forward Journey; WEEK 2 & 3

One learning habit I’ve developed over time is that I always take the time to share my knowledge and teach others. One of the greatest way for our brain to process information is to teach it to someone else. But I realized there are other learning habits I’ve not developed.

In just 3 weeks, forward has exposed me to necessary skills than can turn complex problems.

Setting learning intentions makes learning more powerful, fun, and efficient. These intentions gives one the ability to prioritize the learning experience itself, not just the outcome.

My experience over the years with learning new skills and knowledge has not been so efficient. Somehow, when leaning gets hard or difficult, staying motivated, fulfilled and proud has not been a walk in the park, especially when I am adapting to change that challenges me to do things differently.

With the knowledge I’ve gained courtesy of forward, I have come to understand that my mindset is the bridge between myself and the reality I envision. It influences what I perceive, how I feel, how I behave, and how I see myself. The solution therefore is to:

• Develop an adaptable and resilient mindset.

• Build positive learning habits.

Do a reflection analysis.

• Always maintain a positive mindset.

It is true that forming habits requires an investment of time to start and so much motivation and energy for the long run. But within reasons, I strongly believe in my ability to learn new things, overcome challenges and accomplish just about anything I put my mind to.

I see a challenge and lack of motivation as a potential win-win situation ready to be discovered. These are tool that’ll enable me navigate the future whatever it may hold.

With Forward, I have learnt to set learning intentions and I’m determined to keep at it.

I look forward to taking more steps Forward.
